Library

The Library is an outstanding place for students, staff, and community members to gather and celebrate reading and books!

Here are some important aspects of the CMS Library:

  • We have a total of over 17,555 books!

  • We store class sets of books for clubs and literature circles

  • In 2022, over 100 new titles were purchased based on student recommendations and culturally diverse books,

  • There is a balance of 50% Fiction and 50% Non-Fiction

  • We have bi-lingual sections and foreign language dictionaries based on student request.

  • Teachers bring classes to the library regularly and arrange time for special research projects such as investigating Ancient Eygpt or the American Revolution.

Library Agreements 2023-2024

  • Be Respectful of other people when using the library. 

  • If a student loses or damages a book, please notify the librarian immediately. The student  will pay the cost to replace the book . The cost to replace or repair will vary  depending on the type of book (hardback/paperback) and the availability of the title.

  • Students may check out a book for TWO weeks. They will receive a receipt at checkout time that notes the title of the book and the DUE date. If a student needs more time to finish a book they may renew it for two more weeks. When a book is not returned on time the student will receive a reminder notice that it is overdue.   After 30 days  if the book has not been returned, it will be considered lost.   

Library Hours

The CMS Library is open 8:00am-3:30 pm (MTThF) and 8:00am -2:20 (W)  Students may visit  the library before and after school, recess, lunch, or during their scheduled class time.
